1: What exactly is Handwriting Analysis?

Handwriting Analysis is a scientific system of identifying and assessing the character and personality of an individual through a study of handwriting. The techniques used are based on a well-defined, standardized method of:

Identifying strokes in handwriting
Relating these strokes to specific personality traits
Evaluating the relative strength of the interrelated traits.

2: Has it been proved that a person's personality is reflected in his/her handwriting?

Ever since Renaissance days (1622) when Camillo Baldi, an Italian physician, wrote the first treatise on the subject, many learned people have believed that handwriting can indicate character traits. Sigmund Freud wrote, "There is no doubt that men also express their character through their handwriting." Today most psychologists agree that there is a correlation between the constitutional, mental, and emotional characteristics of an individual and the way her or she forms strokes in handwriting.

3: What is the basis for theory that specific strokes indicate certain personality traits?

Identification of a trait is based on several interrelated sign posts which support or substantiate each other. A one-to-one theory is not practiced in Handwriting Analysis. It is an oversimplification and there is little or no validity in the popular belief that just one graphic sign can be relied on to identify a trait of personality.

Although separate and distinct personality traits are recognized, the Graphologist evaluates the relative strength of the different traits shown and evaluates the effect of one trait upon another, thus arriving at a description of the individual's total personality pattern.

4: What is the relationship between Handwriting Analysis and psychology?

A:Handwriting Analysis is a branch of applied psychology - a discipline. Modern psychological findings are important in the preparation of the evaluation portion of a Graphology report.

5: Is handwriting analysis research totally complete in its final form?

Handwriting Analysis is not a closed subject. As in any science, continuing studies reveal additional information. Research concerning the relationship between handwriting strokes and personality traits is conducted on a continuing basis. When reliability and validity of new findings have been proved to the satisfaction of the research and education aims of the profession, such information is passed on to qualified Graphologists and included in the standard instruction material of the Graduate course in handwriting analysis.

6: What training or schooling is necessary in order to become a Graphologist?

The formal training program of the Handwriting Analysts International consists of 30 modules divided into 3 levels explaining all the personality traits in graphology which is vital for those who wish to become professional handwriting analysts. Students will learn how to write personality analysis reports including, general personality analysis, compatibility analysis, comprehensive analysis reports and profile analysis reports to the utmost satisfaction of their clients.

Practical instructions in the course guide the student on how to rate the personality traits with the help of several examples. By the end of the course you can easily produce quality reports that will accentuate your credibility as a handwriting expert.

7: Can I Study Handwriting Analysis from Home?

Yes, you can! Graphology training is offered through the HAI as a home study program. You can study at your own pace, whenever and wherever you want, wherever you live.

8: How Long Does The Course Take ?

If you apply yourself regularly to your studies, you can certainly complete the 3 levels of the Graduate course within 9 - 10 months. Half an hour each day is all you need! All too often people let their ideas and dreams go to waste. Usually it’s because they don’t know where to start, claim they haven’t the time or simply never get round to it. Don’t let this happen to you.

12. How does one appear for the exam to get the certification?

The Graduate course in handwriting analysis contains 30 modules divided into 3 Levels. Exams are conducted at the end of each module. 70% of the exams are conducted online. Students can take these online tests conveniently from any computer connected to the internet. After submission of the exam, results will be available instantly with the complete feedback.

Remaining 30% of the exams are written tests. These Exam papers are emailed to the students. You are allowed to complete the examination within 15 days. Scanned copies of your answer sheets should be emailed to your tutor. We will also accept hand written assignments posted from you.

We are very careful not to give you any tedious, or irrelevant exercise. Instead, we give you assignments that involve “real life” exams designed to improve the observing skills of the student and using the knowledge in the application of real life situations, and then back this up with detailed comments on how to improve it – if improvement is necessary.

Questions are asked about each writing pertaining to specific situations such as compatibility, vocational aptitude and child development.

One cannot become a doctor by reading a book on medicine. Books supply the reader with an introductory understanding of handwriting analysis. No book contains all the principles and techniques of Graphology - the subject is too vast to condense into book form.
